Dear Ksenija,
Every two years, La Leche League International gathers nominations from all over the world, and makes honorary awards to those extraordinary people who have contributed most to supporting breastfeeding and La Leche League.
I am pleased to inform you that at our recent meeting, the Board of Directors of La Leche League International decided that you would receive the Award of Appreciation. This is for an individual or group whose support of LLL has been outstanding. Previous recipients have been Princess Grace of Monaco, Margaret Kyenka-Isabirye, Sue Ann Kendall, Roberta Bishop Johnson, Joe Shapiro and Ilene Traiger.
You have been responsible for bringing La Leche League to Slovenia. You have not only founded a group, encouraged Leader Applicants, worked with the public and with health professionals, written a book, and translated materials, but you have changed attitudes to breastfeeding in that country. La Leche League International would like to recognise what you have done for mothers and babies in your country.
We would like to congratulate you, and inform you that the award will be presented at the LLLI Conference in Chicago July 7-10. If you are going to be there, we would be delighted to be able to present it to you in person. Please let us know if you will be there.
Sincerely,
Nan Jolly,
Chair, LLLI Board of Directors Awards Committee,
Kmalu boste izvedeli veliko o več o gibanju za dojenje pri nas, kjer bomo objavili pismo tudi v Slovenščini.
